As competition entries for the GFF x ellesse Tailors Programme have now closed, we take a moment to reflect on the inspiring university visits that marked the beginning of this creative journey. From Rome to Bournemouth, we had the privilege of some one-on-one time with final year BA Fashion students, sharing our brand’s new strategy direction and witnessing the boundless creativity of the aspiring designers.
In December, our Global Design Lead, Craig Marcus, had the pleasure of visiting Accademia Costume & Moda university in Rome. Against the backdrop of Italy’s rich fashion heritage, Craig introduced students to our renewed focus on elevated tailored sportswear and the essence of our Italian roots. The visit provided an opportunity for students to gain insights into the our DNA and explore how they could translate these elements into their design concepts.
In January, Ony Nwanokwu, our Senior Content & Community Manager, made the trip to Arts University Bournemouth. Surrounded by the vibrant energy of the campus, Ony engaged with students eager to showcase their creativity and vision. The visit served as a platform for lively discussions on the intersection of sportswear and luxury, as well as the role of innovation in shaping the future of fashion.
Now, with a staggering 96 entries received, the GFF x ellesse Tailors Programme has exceeded expectations, demonstrating the immense talent and passion of the next generation of designers. As judging commences, the anticipation builds for the announcement of the winning collections, which will be showcased at Graduate Fashion Week in London in June 2024.
