ellesse has just announced a new global design competition for upcoming and established artists and designers.
Participants are asked to create a piece of design that commemorates the brand’s 50th anniversary in 2009. Source of inspiration is the ellesse rich Italian heritage and sporting roots in tennis. Think of tailoring, pleats and stripes from the archive. But also refer to the ellesse logo and the strong iconography through the decades - the calendar tennis girls and the iconic ads.
For visual inspiration go to the heritage section. And if you feel like going a step further click here for guidelines and a downloadable entry pack.
To launch Create Tennis Art in style ellesse has approached three artists from different design disciplines. Illustrator Si Scott has already created a piece in his signature hand drawn style, featured here on the right. Silk print artist Kate Gibb and visual artist Babis Alexiadis are also working on concepts based on the same brief.
