For 2011 world - renowned artist Robert McGinnis has created four illustrations – one for each season. Spring saw us at the Portofino Tennis Club overlooking the Harbour whilst Summer had us wishing we were on the idyllic Amalfi Coast basking in the Italian Sun.
The Italian nostalgia has continued to run through the Autumn and Winter illustrations.
“Rome, The City of Dreams” is the location of the third Autumn-themed painting – six friends cruising the city on their motorcycles with the backdrop of the Colosseum. The friends are in high spirits and full laughs - as the air is cooling and the days grow shorter - the party season hits town.
In the last of the 4 instalments from Robert McGinnis the Winter-themed painting finds us in “Cortina’s Winter Playground”. High up in the Dolomites, with a view of the pistes, it’s where the jet set celebrate the first snow fall. Fun, games and après-ski are the overriding themes for this final painting.
Having illustrated over 1,200 paperback book covers including several James Bond films we felt honoured that Robert McGinnis has created such beautiful illustrations to show how to live “La Dolce Vita” – the ellesse lifestyle of passion, freedom and romance.
